I consider myself as a “planner”. I’ve always had a vision for my life and a vague blueprint to accompany my dreams. Being in relationship with God has me completely re-evaluating the route and destination of my life. I am so fortunate that the passion I have aligns with the life God is leading me into, but even that is apart of His plans as the Lord plants His desires in our hearts.

for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

Philippians 2:13 (NIV)

I am at an intersection in my life, and seemingly so are those around me. When I graduated from high school and began college three years ago, my outlook for life was 180 degrees from where it is now but God’s preferred path for me is something that satisfies me in a way I couldn’t of planned. Like many people I included getting closer to God as one of my 2019 new years’ resolutions but I was not expecting the intensity and life-changing, taste-altering relationship that has blossomed. We all have visions and plans of our own but let’s take a moment to seek His vision. There is an appointed time for everything and moving from out of His timing to rush could result in moving away from His blessing and original intent for that area in our lives. It’s ingrained in us and reinforced by culture to grind and find a way, or create a way but God wants us to be still and KNOW He is God. I find comfort in knowing God’s vision and strategy carries with it the necessary provision to bring it to fruition! The Lord takes the guesswork out of life; if that’s not beautiful, I don’t know what is.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

As we all prepare to enter into a new decade I challenge you to seek the Holy Spirit for His direction for your life. Are you trusting Him to know what makes you happy and what fulfills you?

The blessing of the Lord brings wealth,
    without painful toil for it.

Proverbs 10:22 (NIV)
