About Me

Aliah Kimbro

With a passion for literature, design, and connecting through stories, Aliah brings vision and authenticity to every project she touches.

Aliah Kimbro is a writer, teacher, and publisher from Lorain, Ohio, with a lifelong passion for storytelling. Her journey began in primary school, where she explored web design and early social media by creating fan sites and online platforms. Aliah earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Kent State University and holds technical certifications in Software Development and Business.

While digital media and consulting are significant aspects of her work, Aliah’s true passion lies in book publishing. She is dedicated to helping others share their stories, whether through digital mediums, writing, or oral storytelling. This commitment inspired her to found GEM Publishing in 2024, a company offering both publishing and digital solutions.

Before launching her business, Aliah gained valuable experience in journalism and the nonprofit sector in Lorain County. She made history as the first Black woman to serve as the Senior Multimedia Reporter and the first Urban Affairs Reporter at The Morning Journal, her hometown newspaper.

Aliah is currently working on her debut novel, slated for publication in 2025, as she continues to bring stories to life and help others share their voices with the world.
